Salk with Transnetyx
Exclusive Genotyping Agreement
The Salk Institute has arranged for mouse genotyping services to be provided by Transnetyx, Inc. beginning June 21st, 2007. The Salk Institute has negotiated a very favorable price structure through a beta trial service offered exclusively to The Salk Institute by Transnetyx.
Transnetyx has developed a proprietary technology and high throughput process for DNA extraction and analysis. Their automated genotyping service screens for transgenic, knock-out mutations, knock-in mutations and single base changes in tissue using real time PCR. Results are reported electronically within 72 hours.
Mouse Genotyping Service
Transnetyx offers a fast, easy and accurate way to get your genotyping results. Simply register for an on-line genotyping account here. The Transnetyx Quick Order system allows you to place orders, manage your genetic strain information and assays, as well as view and manage your genotyping results.
Free Assay Design
Transnetyx does not believe you should be penalized to start genotyping with us. Therefore, as part of our service you will work with our team of assay design specialists free of charge. The TYX Assay Design Team is trained and experienced in mouse breeding, bench research, and bioinformatics. They will ensure that you have a robust and efficient real time PCR assay that is specific to your mutation and works in our fully automated, high-throughput system.
You will also be assigned a TYX Project Manager who will act to expedite each of your genotyping projects from assay design all the way through sample submission and results reporting. Your TYX project manager will work for you and be your point of communication.
Free Sample Submission Supplies
Transnetyx will provide you with everything you need to send us your samples: a Transnetyx bar-coded 96 well plate, cap-mat, lid and rubber band to seal the plate. Supplies and a sample repository are located in Shipping and Receiving.
Free Shipping
Mail Your Tail with The Salk Institute and you will not be charged for shipping. The Salk Institute will manage the shipment of samples twice a week and cover the shipping charges. Drop your samples in the refrigerated drop box located in Shipping and Receiving.
