Exclusive Genotyping Agreement
The Stowers Institute for Medical Research has arranged for automated genotyping services to be provided by Transnetyx, Inc. Stowers has negotiated a very favorable price structure through an Institutional Testing service offered exclusively to Stowers researchers by Transnetyx.
Transnetyx has developed a proprietary technology and high throughput process for DNA extraction and analysis. Their automated genotyping service screens for transgenic, knock-out, knock-in mutations and single base changes in tissue using real time PCR. Results are reported electronically within 72 hours.
The current service offered by Transnetyx is to individual labs, which includes direct billing and shipping as well as sample testing in duplicate. The Institutional Testing service includes centralized billing and shipping, as well as single rather than duplicate testing at a more affordable price.
